Eurostar services face disruption in Brexit no-deal

Eurostar trains face possible disruption if the UK exits the EU without a deal, the government has warned.

In the latest no-deal contingency documents, released by the Government on Friday, it says rail services could be suspended without specific agreements with France and Belgium.

Train operators which currently only hold a UK licence, such as Eurostar, will have to apply for new licences, certificates and authorisations from an EU rail regulator to continue services.

"If there's no deal, we would still be able to pursue bilateral agreements with EU countries to maintain cross-border services," said the document.
